A Doctor's Perspective - Dr. Amit Bar-Or
Dr. Amit Bar-Or is a neurologist and neuro-immunologist at the Montreal Neurological Institute.
A “Clinician Scientist”, Dr. Bar-Or is the Coordinator of the MNI’s Clinical Research Unit, while managing numerous multi-center research studies, focused on multiple sclerosis. Dr. Bar-Or is also the founder of the Experimental Therapeutics Program, which enhances translational activities by connecting research in immunology and neurobiology with studies of neuro-immune and neurological diseases in order to develop and advance knowledge and treatments with respect to experimental therapeutics and clinical trials. This helps to better understand such diseases, while presenting opportunities to develop biomarkers of response to therapy and evaluating new therapies.
In addition to conducting research, Dr. Bar-Or also visits patients (in clinics or patients in the Montreal Neurological Hospital) one and a half to two days every week.
